Biography

Birth

Joane Francklyn was baptised at St Edburgh's, Bicester, Oxfordshire on 26th May 1583.[1] No parents names are stated on the register.

First Marriage

Roger Sumner and Johan Franklin were married on 2nd November 1601 at St Edburgh's, Bicester, Oxfordshire.[2]

Second Marriage

On 10th January 1610/11 Marcus Brian and Joanna Sumner were married in Bicester.[3] The register also states that Joanna was the widow of Roger.

There is also no burial on 1st July 1620 in Bicester, or any date around that time, so I also removed this.

There is no baptism in Bicester on or around 13th February 1560 for a Joan Franklin or variants. Since this date of 1560 also seems unlikely as it would mean she did not marry until she was 41 and had her first child at 45. I am going to change this date so that it matches that of the other Joan Franklin profile and add the source so that we can finally merge these two profiles

I am removing the marriage to John Sumner. Checking the registers the marriage on 18th May 1618 in Broadwater Sussex (which is the location as per the family tree on familysearch) is for a Joan Sumner to John Thomas. So clearly not this person (her name at that time is Joan Brian).

I think we need to resolve the differing birth and death dates and places on the two profiles before any merge is done.

The birth and death dates for this entry are highly unlikely - she was 41 for her first marriage and 51 for her second (in the early 17th century)? And gave birth at 45?
