Born in 1934 to Desmond Annesley Vaughan Kenealy and Alida Catherina Theodora de Smidt at their home in Orange Grove, Johannesburg. Schools in Johannesburg were Mrs Tannick's Undercliff Preparatory and St John's College, which I attended from 1942 to 1952, matriculating in 1951. I stayed on for 6th Form, but gave this up after 4 months; the other students were only there to play in the 1st team or become Head-of-House and such non-academic reasons. I was accepted into University of Cape Town to study Mechanical Engineering in 1953 and graduated with B,Sc. in 1958. Thereafter I joined the Vacuum Oil Co at their Cape Town head office. I had become engaged to Maureen Jean MacBride of Kimberley in 1958, who was a Medical Technologist, working with Dr M.C. Botha at the Western Province Blood Bank. We married in Cape Town in September 1959. As soon as we had returned from honeymoon, Vacuum transferred me to their Natal Branch, in Durban, where I was the Distribution Engineer, in charge of all vehicles from East London in the South East to Vryheid in the North West of the Branch. Maureen was accepted as a Blood Technologist in the Natal Blood Transfusion Service and worked at King Edward Hospital.

Elizabeth's maiden name was Schola, as per the sources on her profile
Could you please amend her Last Name at Birth or add me to her Trusted List so I can make the change myself.
Thanks Steve
Archibald Kennedy and Catherine Hunter was born and lived in Scotland. That is all we know, have not been able to find any further trace of them. Our South African Genealogy Register states that their son John Hunter Kennedy was from Aberdeen, Scotland. (According to Geni born on 4 September 1802. ) Wish we could somehow find more information so I can update my family tree.
Regards,
Joey Cordier

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
