Carolyn, THANK YOU for your help!!
Hi Carolyn,

Thanks for taking responsibility for more Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Hi, I hadn't even noticed that someone had added a daughter to Henry Bray and Sarah Yokley after the Southern Project had approved the profile, I appreciate you finding that and taking her off.

People always put Martha Bray as Henry Bray and Sarah Yokeley's daughter. I have looked and looked for proof but have never been able to find any. She's not even in Henry's Will.
I've also never found parents for that Martha, I put a note on her profile, that Henry Bray and Sarah Yokley are not her parents.

Welcome to WikiTree! I have some of the O'Neal line entered into the tree here, but there's still a lot of them I haven't had time to work on yet.

By the way, there's a pretty good chance that we're at least "kissing cousins" (i.e. married in) as I see that you're managing profiles for Smith, Efird, and Hartsell surnames in counties of North Carolina where my maternal family is from.

Hi Debi,

I just looked at your profile page, then went up your Smith family line to see if we're related. I noticed "Shinn" so I looked at that. We're more than "kissing cousins". I have John Riedt Reed in my family line, too. His daughter Fanny married William "Billy" Craton. They're my 4×greatgrandparents. Also, I grew up and still live in the original Shinn home area in New Jersey I lived in Mount Holly from 1964 to 1986, and now live in Lumberton, which is right next door. I didn't know that I was related to the Shinn family by marriage until I started researching my family history and found out about Samuel Shinn who traveled from New Jersey to North Carolina. His brother Thomas built a log cabin that was found inside of a house that was demolished to make way for the Burlington County Court House. It was moved to the parking lot behind the police station by the Mount Holly Historical Society and is now a main tourist attraction here. Carolyn

Thanks for your notes, Carolyn. I've initiated the merge for Martha Regina and you should have been notified.

Cundiff is my ex-husband's surname. We are still friends and I research his family. His Cundiff family is from Amherst and Bedford County, Virginia.

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like Switzerland Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag Switzerland will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
