Hi James

I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the US Southern Colonies Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the Southern Colonies project? If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best wishes,

Mary~ Project Coordinator, Membership, US Southern Colonies

I have followed the activities of members who reported on events and made requests related individuals who resided in colonial Virginia. No request has been made about any of my direct ancestors about whom I have information.

Thank you for replying to the US Southern Colonies check in, James Franklin. I have marked you as active. Some of the issues are on managed profiles, that come through on the other Google group. Perhaps you have written the biographies well with sources, and no one has seen one to question.

Hi Mary,

I have followed activities of the group, but have not contributed any additions. I am somewhat confused about the process of adding information and would appreciate any suggestions from you or other participants in the project about how I can become more involved. I would like to remain a participant. Thank you, Jim Haynes.

Hi Jim,

Your contributions show this as US SC https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Haynes-2422. Now it is North Carolina Province. I thought I had you listed as Colony of Virginia Team. You could add a source, add the sticker if you haven't yet.

Here is another North Carolina profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Huggins-1619 . And https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Haynes-2422.

I am marking you as Active this 6 months.

You could add US SC stickers to these

Hope this helps you

Hi Jim,

Just as a reminder, if you mark someone Confirmed with DNA, you must included a DNA statement. Here is a link to a Step by Step guide on how to do this. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:DNA_Confirmation.

Also, I have come across several Stories you have written and have not cited your sources, please you must cite your sources. You can't use a general statement like this "from information found in "several sources" listed on Wikitree.com"

Please do not remove cited sources without an explanation.

If you need help we have a lot of mentors that are willing to help. Just ask.

Hi Jim, As a reminder, our Honor Code says we cite sources. You have numerous profiles with no sources. Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources#Examples to understand how to cite your sources. Also, primary sources are needed to mark data as certain. Take a look at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Uncertain#What_are_examples_of_sources_that_provide_uncertain_information.3F

If you need help we have a lot of mentors that are willing to help.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the reminder. I have been busy with other genealogy matters and forgot to add sources for some of my ancestors I listed on wikitree. I have added sources for my unsourced ancestors over the last two days. I do not think that I now have any ancestors shown on my tree with out sources. If I do, let me know, and I will try to correct my shortcomings. However, I am not a very advanced computer user. James F. Haynes.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit with the comments you entered. Adding the tag United_States will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
