Biography

Nathan was born in Ohio in 1822 to Thomas Gilbert (1785-1863) Find A Grave: Memorial #45345887 and Molly "Polly" (Sinclair) Gilbert (1788-1845) Find A Grave: Memorial #45345914. He was one of five siblings.

Nathan married Amy Mc Daniel (1829-1916) on 18 Dec 1847 in Highland, Ohio. They were the parents of nine children:

Nathan is, in all likelihood buried in New Vienna IOOF cemetery, but as yet no record has been found to prove this information.
Recently received this note: jay.wright.law.79 [at] aya [dot] yale [dot] edu:
Nathan B. Gilbert is listed in the Clinton Co, OH, cemetery book, year 2000 edition, p. 435, as buried in New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Please change him from a "burial unknown" to buried in that cemetery. Thanks.
