Lieutenant Colonel Peter Graham Little was born on 15th August 1916 in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Australia. He was the younger son of Egbert Little and Daphne Horrocks. [1]
On 29th March 1934, Peter enlisted in the Commonwealth Military Force (Militia). He transferred to the Second Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the Second World War. There, he served with the 2/11th Australian Infantry Battalion. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant and transferred to the 2/1st Battalion, with whom he served as commanding officer of D Company as a Captain during the Aitape-Wewak Campaign. Following the war he transferred back to the Commonwealth Military Force and continued to serve his country until 6th January 1958, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. [2]
