Biography
William was 40 years old at his death in 1846 - therefore an approximate date of birth of 1806 seems reasonable. William names a son Joseph and a daughter Bridget - fairly uncommon for non-Irish families. However the following baptism is a possibility and may explain this.
Possible baptism - on 6 Apr 1806 William Browell, of Ryton, born 25-May 1805, 4th son of Joseph Browell (wright, native of Ovingham, [Northumberland]) by his wife Bridget Pinkney (native of this parish) was baptised at Ryton, Holy Cross. [1]
William Breand Mary Ann Miller (both of this parish were married by banns at Monkwearmouth, St Peter on the 30th December 1835.[2]
In 1841 William and his wife Mary were living with four children and two other families in Union Lane, Sunderland.[3]
