Nathaniel Throp was born perhaps in Norwich, England about 1597 (in 1632 he gives his age as 35). He died after 1635. He is the son of Gyles Throop and Margaret Smyth.
Nathaniel and Liefjie's marriage registration can be seen at the Stadsarchief Amsterdam web-site. No English translation of the registration's details seems to be available.[1]
More information on the marriage record is available at openarchives,[2] which gives the formal archival source citation: Amsterdam City Archives in Amsterdam, Register of notices of marriage, Part: 672, Period: 1631-1633, Amsterdam, archive 5001, inventory number 672, September 11, 1632, Ondertrouwregister, folio p.145.
At open archives, clicking on Nathaniel's name brings up 2 more records for that name. Both in the 1650s so must involve a possible son named Nathaniel: one is a baptism in 1656 for daughter Lydia,[3] while the other is a record of citizenship (a glassworker, he was paying to become a burgher).[4] Again these records belong to a YOUNGER Nathaniel.
The senior Nathaniel is referenced in a 1982 book on English churches in the Low countries, but details are not yet available. [5]
