Biography

Nicola Piscionieri was born at Lipari, Provincia di Messina, Kingdom of Sicily, about 1545, of unknown parentage; and died at Lipari, before the Lipari census of 1610.[1] He married at Lipari, about 1570, Marianna Falanga, who was born at Lipari, about 1550, of unknown parentage; and died at Lipari, before the Lipari census of 1610.[2]

  2. Stefano Piscionieri, bap. 12 Feb. 1575; sponsor was Mariano Ventura.
  3. Caterina Piscionieri, bap. 13 9bre (Nov.) 1577; sponsor was Presti Vincenzo Amendola. She m. Nicola di Franza. On 3 April 1620, there was a case involving Don Michele Cremonese (and a petition of Caterinella Pixioneri, whose son, Francesco di Franza, seriously wounded Francesco Contubernia, son of Michele Contubernia, who was for many years the mistress of sacerdote Michele Cremonese, through which the grave scandal was published).[5]
  4. Andrea Piscionieri, bap. 18 April 1584; m. Armenia Morales.
  5. Angela [Angelica] Piscionieri, b. ca. 1586; m. Lipari, ca. 1593, Giulio Tumeo.
  6. Francesco Piscionieri, bap. 28 May 1588; sponsor was Giovanni Baijolieri.
  7. Lorenzo Piscionieri, b. ca. 1590; bur. Lipari, 29 Nov. 1670, ae. ca. 70: "Luarntius [Salvator is scratched out] Pisciuneri alias Jocà, etatis sue annorum circatae 70." He m. Lipari, ca. 1624, Bartolilla Strangio, dau. of Giovanni Giacomo Strangio and Domenica Duca.
