Biography

Giovanna di Summa was born at Lipari, Provincia di Messina, Kingdom of Sicily, about 1566,^[1] daughter of Paolo di Summa and Giovanna Iraci; and died at Lipari, after 25 February 1613.^[2] She married at Lipari, about 1585, Antonino di Giovanni, who was born at Lipari, about 1557,^[3] of unknown parentage; and died at Lipari, after 25 February 1613.^[4]

In the 1610 Census of Lipari, Antonio de Giovanne (or de Giovanni or de Jovanni or di Giovanni), aged about 53, was living with his wife (Gianella di Summa, aged about 44) and their eight children: (Francisco, aged 16; Bartolo, aged 11; Giovanni, aged 7; Gion Maria, aged 4; Lezia; Minerva; Maria; and Caritella). No property nor personal estate was recorded in his census entry.^[5]
