Hey Bennett; We have a potential situation with duplicate profiles that we should talk about. In your tree you show Capt. William Browne (Browne-1052) married to Mary English (English-748), and in my tree I have Mary English (English-6485), daughter of Philip English and Mary Hollingsworth, married to William Brown (Brown-154820). Due to the closeness of birth dates and birthplaces, and the fact of similar spouse names, it seems that there is a very good likelihood that we're referring to the same couple. Unfortunately that seems to exhaust all sources I can find about the matter. If you feel confident enough with this, I would be happy place your Capt. William Browne as the husband of my Mary English, then initiate a merge to solve the problem of duplicate profiles. Please let me know how you feel about the matter. .

Dear Bennett Rockney, I was researching Rev. Eben Muir Rice Journals from 1861 which have been posted on Rural Roots, Guelph University, he wrote them when he was a student at the Woodstock Literary College 1861 to 1865, where Rachel Killmaster was also a student. I donated his three original journals by Eben Muir Rice, to McMaster Baptist History Dept. They span 10 years. He died at age 31, in Martinsburg NY. In the journals Rachel Killmaster is mentioned several time. I have retained one book, " Lectures, Essays and Orations, which include a essay by Rachel Killmaster. Eben added she was from Port Rowan. This body of work, 'The Writings of Eben Muir Rice (c) from his journals have been publish online I believe through Oxford County Genealogical Society. It took me 5 years to rewrite all the journals in longhand, and put into binders. I had to use a magnifying glass, while I drank copious cups of coffee at Tim Hortons every morning before I went to work to finish them, then they were typed. I have NO photos of Eben, but believe there was a commencement photo. Bev Campbell.

Bennett, I provided a request to correct the spelling of the maiden name of Jane Moore (with an 'e' at the end). Moor-137

The last name for Jane at birth was Moore, with the letter 'e' at the end. Her last name changed twice from her maiden name...first to White, when she married her first husband. I have added in her first husband, although I only have limited information on Mr. White.

Then after her first husband died about 1795, Jane married her second husband, Lt. Col. John H. Backhouse, and her last name became Backhouse. Here is Jane Backhouse's memorial and gravestone on Find-A-Grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/129570177/jane-backhouse

John H. Backhouse, married his second wife Jane White (nee Moore) in 1797. Jane White (nee Moore) and her first husband Mr. White, had accompanied John and Margaret Backhouse when they emigrated from England to New Jersey in 1791. Subsequent to the emigration to New Jersey, Jane Moore White's first husband passed away, in about 1795. Some two years later, in 1797, and after Margaret Backhouse died, John Backhouse (being aware of Jane's first husband's passing), went back to New Jersey and married Jane White (nee Moore).

John H. and Jane (his second wife) had three children, and the middle name of each of the three children was Moore, the same as the maiden name of the mother, all born / died in Upper Canada / Ontario, as follows: Henry Moore Backhouse (1797 - Nov. 19, 1863) Nancy Moore Backhouse (Feb. 1801 - April 30, 1886) Jane Moore Backhouse (May 1802 - March 28, 1899)

We are cousins on both my maternal AND paternal side!
Hello Bennett! We are 5th cousins 3x removed through the Becker line!  :)
Hi Kathy,

I just found your message from 2019 - almost 4 years late! What is your line of descent from a Becker? For me, as you probably know, it's John Becker - Henry Becker - Jonathan C Becker - May Becker Finnesbo - Frances Finnesbo Rockney - Ben Rockney. Have you done any genetic testing? My profile is available on 23andMe. It would be interesting to see how much DNA we share.

Hi Bennett,

Abiah Hartshorne-22 is a direct ancestor of my family. Would you please add me to her trusted list so I can keep informed of changes to her profile. By the way, I was able to add her parents to her profile today, with quality sources.

Thank you, Sharon

Hi Bennett,

Rebecca Cooper-4722 Gould is a direct ancestor of my family. Would you please add me to her trusted list so I can keep updated on changes to her profile? If you would be so kind as to add me as a profile manager, that would be even better.

Thank you, Sharon

Hello Bennett,

I have some information I can add to the Franklin family. John Tyar Franklin. I have a death date and sources. Also his father is not attached though his profile is there. I have to be on the trusted list or you need to open the profile for editing. Thanks!

Hi Bennett,

Please read the text and see the footnotes and links on Joseph Grafton-31. He was married twice, and his first wife was Hannah Hobart.

Joseph Grafton-50 was created with no dates but with a marriage to Hannah Hobart. I adopted the profile for Grafton-50, knowing that it should be merged into Grafton-31, because I'm the member who did the research on Grafton-31. I didn't see any reason to add data which is already on the other profile, but maybe I should have to make the duplicate more clear.

Are you a descendant of Joseph Grafton, Jr.? His father is an immigrant ancestor and very interesting person. We are not descended from him, but from a related line, Thomas Browning.

best regards,

April

Hi, do you have any information on DOB, DOD, place born, married or death for Sarah Cox (Cox-4173)/

thanks

Hi Bennett, It looks like you may have some outstanding merges that need attention. You can find them by following the link at the top of this page under >Find> Pending merges> Merges awaiting my approval. Thanks for helping with Wikitree! And you may have found a long lost relative.

I was rereading your message tonight about Robert and then James Burdick. Coincidentally, I drove to Medford today to go out to a Jan 1 breakfast with my daughter, Julie, and her new husband. (Geographically, probably near you?) We came back tonight to beat the storm (good luck with it tomorrow). When we went down, we took Rt. 7 through Lanesboro, and I spotted a small cemetery just off the road. I wonder if James Burdick is there? (Another explore awaiting better weather.)
