M. (Tull) Meredith created profiles in December 2023 US Civil War Project Andersonville National Cemetery W Surnames Challenge.

The US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart

Hi Margaret!

Are you related to the Stacks family? I was the person who left the Research Note about the missing burial location on the profile of Mary Ann Sorrell Stacks (Sorrell-632). She is my 3rd great-grandmother. Mary's father, my 4th great-grandfather, was named Green Berry Sorrell. Her son, my 2nd great-grandfather, was named William Green (or Greenberry) Stacks after him. Mary Sorrell in Jefferson County had a different father. We have no reference to him in the family at this time, but I would love to link him at some point! I had not seen the Find-A-Grave page for Mary. It has her correct parents but is missing my 2nd great-grandfather. I'll contact the person who is maintaining the record for Find-A-Grave to see if they will add him.

Edit to say: I won't contact the person about adding my ancestor until we find out about the Find-A-Grave profile. You made a good catch there!!

I appreciate your assistance with the profiles for the Stacks/Wakefield family and the stickers you added!

All the best,

We recently merged a profile for Freemont Robinson (Robinson-38785). I think that this may have been a mistake. According to the death certificate you provided his parents are NOT Melanthon Robinson and Amanda Harshman. If it is ok with you I will go ahead and remove him completely from any connected profiles that connect him to these people and turn over his profile to you due to the fact that I cannot find any sourced information that proves he is a child of Melanthon and Amanda.
Thank You. That will be fine. I appreciate your collaboration.
