Hello there! I work with Project Quebecois on the Last Name at Birth standardization project - I noticed you are the owner of several profiles whose last name at birth is listed as "GUERET DIT DUMONT," - It is important that these are corrected to ONLY the first last name used on the baptismal record, with the other last name variants in the "other last name" section. This is per wikitree guidelines as well as the Project Quebecois naming guidelines. It is the best way to prevent over duplication of profiles.
Sorry about being so tardy on corrections.
My problem is with the name Guerrette (or Gueret) dit Dumont: many of my ancestors in Canada went by the name - Dumont. I feel I would have missed a lot of relatives if I had only searched for Gueret.
Even here in the US, I've found direct relatives by searching Dumont and Demo, no one by Gueret.
I certainly understand the need for clarity and I will address it.
It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Acadia Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.
Sorry I've been absent - just life getting in the way! I guess that for now you should take me off the list. Thank you for letting me know I can rejoin in the future. I plan to do that when things quiet down.
Also, I want to thank you and all the volunteers for all that you do. Wikitree is such a great endeavor and an important resource and I hope it can continue. I tell all my genealogy friends (and any one who will listen) about it!
Keep up the good work and Happy New Year!!!
On behalf of the Acadians Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.
All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.
Hello, just a word (late) to congratulate you on the contributions you made during the month of November. Whatever the quantity, they are all important.
Your work is appreciated.
Thanks
Guy Constantineau

Any time! :) I'm pretty sure we are cousins somewhere. Adelaide was my ggg grandmother. Her daughter, Mamie, married her first cousin, John David Redmond and their daughter Evelyn was my gg grandmother. Evelyn married Gilbert Watson and, out of their slew of kids, Pearl is my grandmother. Pearl marries William Joseph "Joe" Rider Sr and their eldest daughter is my mother, Ellen. :)
