Hi Mark,

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Congratulations, you've been a member for a month!

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging, Templates and Volunteer Opportunities!

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

Try our Relationship Finder! It searches 20 generations. If you find a duplicate profile, the other managers are probably related. You can use this to find out how!

Hi Mark,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Thank you, Mark, for volunteering to help grow our worldwide family tree. We have several researchers here who work with one-name studies, but it sounds like you go beyond that somewhat. Welcome to our group. :)

Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please try very hard not to add any duplicates to our shared tree.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

Hi, My name is Julian-Mark but I go by Mark. I have been actively growing my Family Tree now for about 20 years. Anything Pettigrew whether related or not. After all it seems like there should be a common root for us all. And then at times I go down the path of related families so my gedcom is quite stocked with families. While I do not have a lot of the citations added most of it is verified.
