Began genealogy about 10 years ago when I joined the Daughters of the American Revolution. I am very fortunate that most of my ancestors are pre-1800's so there is no language barrier. From DAR, I reached out to other Heritage Groups and tried to add a different ancestor to each one.
I am still working on this- I find much in common with the Heritage Societies ladies as they too are interested in genealogy, patriotism, history, and volunteerism.
My fathers paternal side comes from Western NY and maternal from Westmoreland PA,
My Mothers side comes from Western Virginia and Boyd Co Kentucky.
I was born Deborah Sexton Gilbert, as tradition in my female side we take a mothers family name in many cases maiden- My mother was Evelyn Persinger Sexton and so it goes.

I sent you a check-in message ten days ago about the 1776 Project to ask you about your past and continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?
If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.
Deb, Thank you for responding to the check in. I wish you the best during this time. The 1776 Project will remove your badge. We appreciate all of the contributions you have made.
We're doing our semi-annual check-in with members to see if you have been active in the last six months? Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the 1776 Project that you respond to these check-ins.
Please post your reply as a reply to this message here on your page, for convenience of our record keeping.
We look forward to hearing from you.

If by "their number" you mean their Wiki ID, it can be found in the upper right quadrant of their profiles page in the menu links. On your own page, for instance, you Wiki ID shows as Gilbert-3387. The Wiki ID is always the Last Name at Birth (LNAB) plus the next sequential number of that name at the time the profile was created.
Have you discovered duplicates that need to be merged? As long as they have the same LNAB, the merge process isn't too hard. The process always starts on the profile with the higher number in the Wiki ID. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "initiate merge" link. The Wiki ID of the profile you were on will be in the first box. Put the lower Wiki ID in the second box, then click merge. The rest works like you have done in other merges.
Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!
Hi Deb, Thanks for your note about the Sexton family. I haven't done DNA testing so can't provide any insight in that respect. My Sexton line is from the Letcher Co, Ky., area. I haven't been able to get any further back than my great-grandfather, Joseph Wesley Sexton (b. 1896, d. 1958). Feel free to private msg me if you think we may have some common threads to explore.
Just saw your question about Withey family in Saratoga or Allegany County. My Withey connection is in Steuben County with ancestor who lived and died (1856) there. Have not yet sourced her origin (I suspect a neighboring county). The Steuben County Historian has files on Withey family in that county but they dated to a bit later than 1856. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Withey-216 and let me know if that is connected to your Withey line. There are very few of them on WikiTree.
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free-Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a Unresponsive Profile Managers for resolving those unfortunate situations.
