Hello William,

I was going through the list of 'unknown' profiles for Lincolnshire and came across Kathleen (Unknown) Girling (Unknown-491722), one of the profiles that you manage. Through her daughter, I found that her last name at birth was Scoffin. I have updated her profile as much as I can with sources for her birth, marriage and childrens' births, but I cannot change her LNAB from Unknown to Scoffin - could you do this please? Thank you Julie :-)

Thanks Julie, think I have amended correctly !

Hi William,

Thank you for all your contributions. I noticed you have added some English profiles. If you would like to become more versed in what resources you can use to locate the information you need, the England Project's Orphan Trail might serve you well with your English ancestors. Feel free to have a look at this page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Orphaned_Profiles_Team, and the various links within that hold some information, such as the GRO (which can be free to use, even when you're not purchasing anything). Find a Grave references alone, unless they have a headstone or sources on the memorial page, are generally not regarded as completely reliable. However, I will say that what I've seen so far has revealed enough to find the records.

Sincerely, Raewyn Vincent

Hi William,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

To find a project that may fit your research interests and provide opportunities to collaborate and contribute to our global tree, please use the Pre-1700 Projects list.

Please refer to the new recommended sources for citing Pre-1700’s sources. when working on profiles of that time period.

For questions, just ask.

William,

I'm not sure which profile you referred to in your message, as you didn't include the wiki ID. In general, all I was doing was changing the general Unsourced Category, which is included by the system when a profile is created without what it thinks are sources, to be more specific, such as "England Unsourced Profiles." I just looked at the places listed in the data. If you have added sources, that is exactly what we like. Vic

Hi William,

I'd like to invite you to join in our "Weekend Chat", a popular G2G post where many of the members visit and share in a variety of topics.

New people say "Hello" and introduce themselves, Leaders and Mentors give tips and answer questions, and regulars share updates on their latest projects and victories... anything they wish to chat about. I most enjoy stories of famous or nefarious ancestors.

We'd love to hear from you, stop in when you're able!

Hi,

I noticed your new Club 100 badge.

Congratulations ?

Keep up the nice work.

Guy

Greetings!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Have been creating family record on another site, very glad to find wikitree, and particularly no cost as it is a hobby for me.
