Hello again, you have a picture on ancestry titled "Stanley Newport my great uncle" of a person on the banjo, I think Stanley Newport was on the piano, I am fairly confident that the piano player is Stanley as the resemblance to myself and others of the male Newport line is very close, I don't wish to be pendantic but I don't think the banjo player was Stanley Newport, I could be mistaken however, if you have any further information about the person with the banjo I would love to read it.

On my tree in ancestry your contributions keep showing up on my "hints" thank you for your contribution, the information you posted is great.

Hey Sheila,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Hi again Sheila,

Thanks for volunteering to help grow our one world tree.

Please drop into our friendly Genealogist to Genealogist (G2G) forum to introduce yourself to other WikiTreers - you can access the G2G by selecting G2G Profile from your My WikiTree menu at the top right of most pages.

WikiTree can be a bit overwhelming at first, so don't hesitate to post your questions in the G2G.

Good luck with connecting your leaves and branches to our big tree,

Maryann

I started doing family research a few years ago before the internet was available. I am particularly interested in studying where people lived and their occupations. I like to add photographs and other information to create a complete picture of each person's life.

PS, I noted you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

Help pages give lots of info about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

If you have brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. WikiTree has one profile for each person, so the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old).

Discussions tagged as GEDCOM in the G2G forum and brickwall.
