Biography

Laura was born on 20 May 1870 in Oppland, Norway. She was the daughter of Lars Andreasen Aanderud and Johanne Karine (Askegaard) Aanderud. Vardal Og Hunn, Oppland, Norway.[1]

When Laura was 17 she married Tosten P Lommen on 23 March 1888 in Walcott, Richland, North Dakota. The couple had 3 children: Claice Lommen, Lothard Lommen and Harold Lommen.[5][6]

In 1900 Laura (age about 29) was living in South Viking, Benson, North Dakota.[3]

In 1910 Laura (age about 39) was living in Albert, Benson, North Dakota.[7]

From First 50 Years of Maddox book:

Laura Josephine Lommen (nee Aanderud) was born May 20th, 1870 at Verdal, Norway. When she was a year old she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. ars Aanderud to the United States, locating at Hickson. She was baptized in Norway and confirmed at Hickson by Rev. J. Wisness. On February 18th, 1888, she was united in marriage to Tosten P. Lommen at Hickson by Rev. J. Wisness and were blessed with 59 years of wedded life. She was also one of the Charter members who were present at the first meeting to organize a Ladies Aid of that congregation. Mr. and Mrs. Lommen are survived by two sons: Harold and Lothard and one daughter (Clarice) Mrs. Martin Ihlen, all of Maddock. Her demise occured on Wednesday, June 4th, 1947 at the age of 77 years, and 15 days.
