Betty "Bettie" Ann Abbott was born 23 Jul 1861^[1] in Whitley County, Kentucky^[2] to Barbara Abbott.^[3][4][5]

She married William Preston Brooks on 26 Jan 1882 in Campbell County, Tennessee.^[6][7][4][5] and the couple had the following known children:
