Biography

Albert's birth was registered in the fourth quarter of 1868. He was the son of Thomas Abbey and Emma Smith^[1]. The birth was registered in Selby, Yorkshire.^[2] The 1911 Census^[3] recorded his birth place as Barlby, Yorkshire.

He married Lavinia Smart and their marriage was registered in the first quarter of 1892 in the District of Leeds, Yorkshire. ^[4]&^[5].

By 1911, Albert was a Basket Weaver and he, his wife and two sons were living with his father Thomas in Ousegate, Selby.^[3]

Albert died at the age of 75. His death was registered in the second quarter of 1943 in Selby, Yorkshire. ^[6]

He died intestate with a letter of administration granted York 14 May 1943 to Lavinia his widow. Effects £1051 1s. 10d.^[7]. The probate entry showed he died on 9 April 1943.
