Biography
John was born about 1797.[1] He was the son of Thomas Abbey.
He married Mary Goodwin by licence in 1826.[2] They had children:
- Thomas (1828)
- John Henry (1831)
- Elizabeth (1833)
- Mary Ann (1835)
- Robert (1837)
- Francis Goodwin (1840-1863)
In 1841 John and Mary are living in Swan Lane, Almondbury. In the household their children John (10y), Elizabeth (8y). Mary (6y), Robert (4y), Francis (1y).[3]
He passed away in 1847. [4]
John came from a family of surveyors based around Lockwood, Yorkshire
