Biography

HANNAH ABBOTT, b. at Pownalborough (noted in the records at Concord), 9 Mar 1782[1] daughter of Benjamin Abbot and Sarah Brown;[2] d. at Boston, MA (burial at Westford), 5 Apr 1869;[3] m. at Concord, 15 Nov 1803,[4] her second cousin once removed, EBENEZER HALL, b. 9 May 1778 son of Daniel and Deborah (Davis) Hall;[5] Ebenezer d. at Westford, 14 Oct 1853 at age 75 years, 4 months.[6]

Ebenezer and Hannah started their family in Concord and relocated to East Boston. In the 1850 census, Ephraim and Hannah were enumerated at East Boston with Ephraim listed as a shoemaker. By that time, all the children were out of the home, although son Ephraim A. Hall was in the next household.[7] After Ebenezer’s death, Hannah lived with her son Luther at Boston.[8]

Hannah Abbott and Ebenezer Hall were parents of five children.

i LUTHER HALL, b. at Concord, 2 Oct 1804; d. at Boston, 21 Dec 1869; m. 1st, 19 Oct 1834, LYDIA ELIZABETH WHITE, b. at Dorchester, Aug 1806 daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Blumer) White; Lydia d. at Dorchester, 5 Mar 1837. Luther m. 2nd, at Boston, 26 Jun 1837, OLIVIA PORTER, b. at Rye, NH, 15 Feb 1811 daughter of Huntington and Sarah Emery (Moulton) Porter; Olivia d. at Newton, 7 Apr 1896.

ii SARAH BROWN HALL, b. at Concord, 13 Feb 1806; d at Westford, 28 Sep 1859; m. 2 Dec 1836, RUFUS PATTEN, b. at Westford, 7 Sep 1802 son of Isaac and Lydia (Keyes) Patten; Rufus d. at Westford, 7 Sep 1881. After Sarah’s death, Rufus married Dolly Bryant, 12 Mar 1862.

iii EPHRAIM A. HALL, b. at Concord, 27 Jun 1812; d. before 1870 likely at Malden;[9] m. at Boston, 2 May 1839, LOUISA LYDIA GLOVER, b. at Boston, about 1818 daughter of Elisha and Lydia (Wooly) Glover; Louisa d. after 1870.

iv MARY HOLYOKE PEARSON HALL, b. 1 Dec 1816; d. at Boston, 18 Aug 1838.

v ANGELINA D. HALL, b. at Westford, 29 Oct 1821; d. at Everett, 8 May 1903; m. at Marblehead, 29 Aug 1841, JOHN BROOKS PARKER, b. at Brighton, 12 Aug 1817 son of John and Harriet (Green) Parker; John d. at Everett, 29 Mar 1896.
