In his will dated 25 August 1769 (proved 29 August 1770), Nathaniel Abbott gentleman of Concord directed that his beloved wife Mehitable be comfortably maintained from the estate while she is a widow. Beloved son Nathaniel is to receive half of all money in his possession or owed to him at the time of his decease and son Jeremiah is to receive the other half. His daughters received the following bequests: Dorcas Merrill, one Spanish milled dollar; Rebecca Doyen, four Spanish milled dollars; Elizabeth Hazeltine, four Spanish milled dollars; Mary Walker, four Spanish milled dollars; Hannah Moor, four Spanish milled dollars; Rebecca Abbott, two Spanish milled dollars; Ruth Walker, four Spanish milled dollars; Dorothy George, four Spanish milled dollars; and Sarah Farnham, four Spanish milled dollars. The household goods are to be divided equally among his nine daughters after his wife’s decease. Son Joshua receives all the lands and buildings, the husbandry tools, and the stock animals. Joshua is named executor and is responsible for the legacies, debts, and the support of Mehitable. Estate was valued at £509.0.11.[4]
