Biography

Reuben was born in 1829 and baptised in 1830 in Brigstock, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Isaac Abbott and Elizabeth Wise.[1] In 1841 the family lived in Isham, Northamptonshire;[2] they had returned to Brigstock by 1851, when Reuben worked as an agricultural labourer.[3]

In 1859 Reuben married Diana Sculthorpe (née Goodyear) in Peterborough, Northamptonshire.[4][5]

At the time of the 1861 census, Reuben lived in Sutton Cheney, Leicestershire, where he worked as a labourer.[6] In 1881[7] and 1891 he lived on St John Street in Peterborough, Northamptonshire.[8]

By 1911 Reuben had returned to Brigstock, where he lived with his sister, Ann.[9] He died later that year at the age of 82.[10]
