Biography

This profile is part of the Abbott Name Study.

Patrick Abbott, a bachelor labourer of full age of Ballincor, married Anne Egan, a spinster servant of full age of Bally...., at Shinrone Roman Catholic Chapel, on 20 Feb 1887 with the fathers named as Joseph Abbott and Michael Egan both labourers.[1]

Patrick died at Ballincor on 28 Apr 1937 aged 87 with his son Joseph Abbott present.[2]

His pension application used the 1851 census for proof of entitlement with his parents named in it as Jospeh and Catherine Abbott of Ballincor, Shinrone, Kings County.[3]

Abbott-10938 and Abbott-7844 appear to represent the same person because: They are my direct ancestors and I know the individual that placed it there. The birth years are too far apart as has being researched by my cousin who agrees with 1850 more so than 1830.

The other profile needs to be retained for the Pat who died aged 16. If his father is incorrect he needs disconnecting.
