Biography

Louis Abbot was born on 19th December 1892 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. ^[1]

In 1901 Louis was 8 and at school. He lived at 69, Radford Road, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire with his father Alfred George (41), a pork butcher, and his sister Mabel (15) who was still at school. His father's butcher's assistant, Horace Evans (22), also lived with them. ^[2]

By 1911 the family had moved to 11 Baker St Nottingham, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Louis was 18 and worked as a bank clerk. His parents, Alfred George and Lucy Mary had been married 26 years and listed their occupations as Gentleman and Lady. They lived in a 7 room house and employed a 31 year old servant Mary Hallam. ^[3]

On 28th February 1918, when he was 25, Louis married 23 year old Mabel Mary Clews, (the daughter of Joseph Walter Clews), at St James's Church in Nottingham. ^[4]

By 1939 Louis had become a bank manager. He lived at 1 Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire with his wife Mabel Mary, and her widowed mother Mary. ^[5]

When Louis died on 1st May 1964 he lived at 5 Victoria Embankment, Nottingham. He was 71. His death was registered in Nottingham. ^[6] He left 5209 pounds to Kenneth Clews Abbot, a telecommunications engineer. ^[7]
