Biography

Virgil was born in 1932. He was the son of Ralph Abbott and Bessie Henderson. He passed away in 1955.

Airman First Class Virgil William Abbott, 22, of De Pue, Illinois, was one of four Lincoln Air Force Base airmen who were killed in a traffic accident 12 miles south of Lincoln on Highway 77. The airmen were members of the 307th Field Maintenance Squadron at the Lincoln base, a Strategic Air Command installation.
