Dorothy was born in 1908. She was the daughter of Charles Abbott and Lulu Jones. She passed away in 2002.

Born in Jay County, she worked at the former Jay Garment Co. for 36 years. Her husband, Roy, died in 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Alma Miller of Pennville; a brother, Russell Abbott of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Daisey Romine of Portland and Ferne Bechdolt of Howe; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland. Calling from 2 to 7 p.m. today. Burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant. Memorials to Jay County Cancer Society. Columbia City
