*Birth, many documents list his birth year to be 1815, his headstone is inscribed with a date of death of 10/21/1894, aged 78 yrs, 9 mos, 28 days, quick calculation leads a good estimate of Dec 23 1815.
The Abbott Family of Pike County, written by Bruce Ronald Abbott, 1983. Page 6 shows Leonard being born to William and Martha. William purchased land in Pike County on May 6, 1828, but he had been living on it for some time previous. They came to pike county between 1810-1820, leads me to believe Leonard was probably born in Kentucky. Daniel Bacon.
