Biography
Michele was born about 1796 [1], son of Calogero Abbruzzo and Pietra D'Antoni [2]. He married Margherita Cottone in 1822 when he was 26 and she 41 [3]. He was widowed 7 months later. In 1840 at age 44 he married 28-year-old Girolama Maggio [4].
Per his 1822 marriage record, Michele was a farming field hand, like his father. In his 1840 marriage record, he is a peasant farmer who doesn't own land. Michele was named for his maternal grandfather, Michele D'Antoni.
