Henry Abbs was born in England. He came to the United States. Henry served in the Union Army during the Civil War, as a Private in Co. C, 43rd New York Infantry. After the war, he married Catherine (McMahan) Cooper. They had at least four children. Henry died in 1900, aged 70, in Richland, Wisconsin, and is buried with his wife in Bloom City Cemetery, Bloom City, Richland, Wisconsin. [1]

Catherine and Henry’s daughter Phoebe Elizabeth Abbs was born in Bloom City, Wisconsin. She married Hiram K. Page on 12 August 1897 in Bloom City, Wisconsin. Hiram was born in Richland, Oswego, New York, the son of Dewitt C. and Ruth A. (Lumbard) Page. [3]
