The home is rented for $15. He reports he was 28 and she was 19 when they first married. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky except for the three boys who were born in Indiana. Joseph is a boiler maker helper at a big 4 railroad shop.

Sheet 9B of the census shows Joseph R Abell (46), wife Mary A (46) and children Rudolph (17), Walter (15) and William (12) living in the home at 1628 Fletcher. The home is rented for $15. Joseph and Mary report they completed the 8th grade. The parents were born in Kentucky and the boys in Indiana. They were living in the same house in 1935. Joseph is a boiler maker helper for a steam railroad company.
