Biography

Mary was born in 1848. Mary was the child of Adam Abercrombie and Mary McLean. Mary passed away on July 23, 1849 as a result of being poisoned by fumes from a charcoal fire placed in an iron pot burning in the bedroom shared with her entire family. The mother woke early and aroused one daughter to arise and dress, but could not wake her husband, or other children. The father and two children were all interred at 3.30 pm on the 25th of July in the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide. This profile is a collaborative work-in-progress.
