DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
My father John Frederick Litster was executor to Thomas Haldane Abercrombie. He is the brother to Elizabeth Abercrombie Kerr. Check her Death Registration on the RBCMuseum genealogy search function for confirmation. She died at his place of Residence on Cecilia Rd in Victoria, B.C. I have searched so many places and finally found a relative, that being Elizabeth. There is no search that I can find on any genealogy sites that lists Thomas (I called him Uncle Tommy) as her brother. I find this sad actually. Also sad is that he passed away alone in 1968 (I was only 8 years old at the time) with no family members that I have been aware of for all these years. I have an original document of his birth in Scotland and other memorabilia from his life. When my mother passed in 2021 (my father passed of ill health in 1979) I acquired all of the items of Tommy's. I am hoping to send them to a local archive here in Victoria however I want to put a story together about Thomas first. I also would so love to see a genealogy website such as yours connect him as a family member, such as son to Alexander and Isabella Haldane and brother to Elizabeth , John Robertson, James and Jean Abercrombie. From all the sites I search, it is like he never existed. That is what makes it so sad. I wish I could attach pics and documents to prove he did exist and indeed had a family. He never had children and as far as I know, never married either. Thank you. Glenda (nee Litster) Perry (not a relative but he might as well have been because of his close connection to my family)
