By 1871,[7] James was working as a grocer in Dunnottar, Scotland.

Research Notes

Above biography states he married Isabella in 1864. After a merge, the following statements were added that conflict somewhat with the biography:

  • He married Margaret Rae in 1859, Scotland. <-- year is incorrect because children born to Isabella were born after this date.
  • He emigrated to Canada in 1890 with his wife Margaret and children.
  • They emigrated from Scotland to Canada in 1887.

Abernethy-800 and Abernathy-1282 appear to represent the same person because: Last Name should be Abernethy as seen in earlier sources on Abernethy-800, as well as on Find a Grave Page, which has newspaper clipping when he died.

Spouse is also duplicated. Family lists have been added to all census entries in Rae-1960 profile. James was Margaret's 2nd husband, not 1st. She was also James 2nd wife, as stated in Rae-1960. Margaret is not mother of son John Jonathan Abernethy, since she did not marry James until 1879. John Jonathan married Margaret's daughter Mary
