Lucretia Emeline Abernathy was born on c.1834, in Alabama to Richard Abernathy and Mary Sample Alexander. She married Isaac Reader (1830-) on December 7, 1850 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, USA.[1] Their children, as presented on census records, were:[2][3]

She then married Martin Strange (1818-1878) on March 17, 1870, in Pontotoc, Mississippi,[4] although he is not enumerated with the family in September the same year (Emeline is living next door to Robert Strange's family, a son of Martin's).[5]
