Biography

Belton worked with the County Educational Institution, of Edgefield. He may have been an instructor or staff member since his family lived on Campus according to the 1900 Census. The Saluda Regiment of Edgefield is an unusual name for an area or township of Edge field. The meaning not known.

Belton and his parents was born in 1854 in South Carolina. Belton Abney passed away in 1912 & is buried at Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Cemetery.
