George Monroe Abney was born 12 Jan 1858 to Paul Collins Abney and Margaret Elvira Fullerton.[1]
George graduated in 1883 from the Hospital College of Medicine, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
He was living in Jasper county, Texas by 1880 and moved to Cherokee County, Texas in 1886 where he lived for two years and then moved to Franklin in Robertson County, Texas.
He died 23 Jun 1929 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas.[1]
Abney, Dr. George M., died at home of a brother, Dr. James A. Abney, at Brownwood Sunday. Following the death of his wife two weeks ago at San Antonio, he had gone to Brownwood to visit his brother. Burial at Franklin; age 71; one of the pioneer citizens of Angelina County having been born and reared here; after completing his course in medical school, he settled in Jasper to practice his medical profession; married while in Jasper; moved to Wells where he engaged in the practice of medicine with Dr. J.C. Falvey; then moved to Franklin. Survived by two sons, Charley Abney, St. Louis and Raymond Abney, Lufkin.[2]
He was buried 24 JUN 1929 in Franklin, Robertson County, Texas.[3]
