James was the son of George Abney[1] and Ellen Wolseley. He may have been born in Willesley, Derbyshire where his father had his residence.[2][3] His birth date is not known and has been guesstimated.
James married Mary Milward.[1] They had at least two children:
James Akney who married the daughter of Milward. They were the parents of
George who married the daughter of Charles Low. They were the parents of
James who married the daughter of Manwaring de Whitmore. They were the parents of
Sr Edward Akney who married Damaris Andrews
