Elizabeth married a neighbor and friend of the family, John P. Ingram. He was a widower with three children from his previous marriage and 26 years older than she. They had five children together. By 1880, she was widowed and living in Union township with her daughter Maggie while Sadie lived with Elizabeth's sister.
