Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1811. She was the daughter of Jonathan Aborn and Dorcas Tourtellot. She married John R Harris and had the following children:

  1. Sarah Smith Harris Smith (1837-1885)
  2. Martha Smith Harris (1838-1840)
  3. James Aborn Harris (1841-1868)

She passed away after 1880 and was buried at Oak Ridge Cemetary, Madison, Madison, Florida. Her memorial stone reads: "In memory of Elizabeth Harris Matron of the Florida Hospital in the Army of the West During the Civil War 1861-1865. Erected by the Elizabeth Harris Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy Madison Florida."[1]
