Katharina was born in 1722 in Meiringen, Oberhasli, Bern, Switzerland. She was the daughter of Andreas Abplanalp and Katharina Von Bergen.^[1]

When Katharina was about 25 she married Ulrich Zurfluh on 5 May 1747 in Meiringen, Oberhasli, Bern, Switzerland.^[1]
