Ignace Abraham dit Desmarais (written as Demarets dit Abraham at marriage) was born 2 April 1714 and baptised twenty days later (22 April) at the church of Saint-François-Xavier in Saint-François-du-Lac, Nouvelle-France as the son of Pierre Abraham and Marie Josephe Jouiel (Joyal).
