Biography

Ezekiel "Babe" Absher was born on April 17th 1872. His parents were Isaac Absher and Rena Esque.

Babe married Laura Owens in 1896. He made a living as a Painter.

In the 1930s Babe and Laura owned their home in Mountain City, TN on Highway 34.[1]

On August 7th, 1941 E.O. and his wife with children, Ruby, Ruth and James visited George Absher in Pulaski, Virginia.[2]

On Sunday December 21st, 1941, Mr. and Mrs. George Absher from Austinville, VA were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Absher in Mountain City.[3]

On June 22nd, 1944 E.O. Absher and his wife threw a party for their daughter Ruby.[4]

August 29th, 1948, E.O Absher of Mountain City, Tennessee, Will Absher of West Virginia and Mary (Absher) Vaught of Shound, Tennessee are listed as siblings in the obituary for Mrs R. B. Viney who passed away after a brief illness on August 28th, 1948.[5]

Babe had a Cerebral Vascular Accident and died in Memorial Hospital on May 27th, 1958.[6] He is buried in Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, TN.[7]His address at the time of his death was RFD#3 Mountain City, TN.

The available records show conflicting information regarding where Ezekiel was born. Census, Death, etc. It's either Wilkes, NC or Mountain City, TN--both places where the Absher's lived.
