Biography

DISPUTED FATHER --- John or RICHARD: see G2G post attached

  • John Acclom could not have been the father of Ellen Acclom because he was just 17 years old in 1493 when Ellen married Brian Palmes – that would leave Richard Acclom and Margaret Cawood as the most likely parents of Ellen.

Ellen was born about 1476, perhaps at Morebie, Yorkshire, England.

Ellen Acclom of Stillingfleete and Brian Palmes of Naburn obtained a license on 15 November 1493 to marry at the Manor House at Moreby.[1][2]

Dugdale states they had the following children:[2]

  • Nicholas
  • George
  • William
  • Richard
  • Brian
  • Dorothy
  • Anne, married Roose
  • Margery
  • Agnes, married Babthorpe
