Wilma was born in 1925. She passed away in 2016.

OBITUARY

Wilma Jean Miller, 90, of Longview passed away Feb. 24, 2016.

She was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Blue Earth, Minn., to L.V. and Aphia (Bertrand) Acheson. On Sept. 28, 1942, she married William “Bill” Miller in Des Moines, Iowa. They drove from Des Moines to Longview in 1947 with their three-month-old daughter, joining other family members who had moved to Longview earlier.

Jean worked for Pepsi-Cola Company in Longview for many years, retiring in 1990 as an office manager. She was a member of the Longview Nazarene Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She made quilts and afghans for all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Jean was spunky and hardworking, independently taking care of her yard and home into her late 80s. She took great pleasure in cooking for and hosting family dinners. Family functions will never be the same.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1991; her parents; and six siblings.

Jean is survived by three children, Sue Weber, Michael Miller and Diana Ford, all of Longview; five grandchildren, Shannon Miller of Enumclaw, Wash., Shelly Miller and Sean Hawkins, both of Longview, Melissa Lautenbach (Jeff) of Vancouver and Ian Ford of Kelso; six great-grandchildren, Jilleisa Thomas (Dave) of Longview, Taylor and Davis Radcliffe and Parker Ford, all of Kelso, and Justin and Jessica Lautenbach, both of Vancouver; a great-great-granddaughter, Rowyn Thomas of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park with a reception to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
