John George Acker was born in 1811, son of John George Acker (1786–~1878) and Anna Christina Schiet (1787– ).
John married Sarah Allen (born in 1820 in Nova Scotia; daughter of David Allen and Elizabeth Eichart). Their children were:
- Mary Ann Acker (1830–1928)
- John Ambrose Acker (1840–1933)
John died before 1891, aged about 79.
