Biography

Lloyd Acker served in the United States Army in World War I
Enlisted: 1917
Regiment/Unit: Wagoner, Company C 316 Infantry Supply
Discharged: October 2, 1918


Lloyd is the son of Daniel Acker (1843 – 1925) and Mary Kemmerer (1862 – 1947). He is the seventh born of 11 children, his elder 2 siblings Lewis and Agnes being from his fathers first marriage to Marcella Arndt (1852 – 1877). In order are Jamie, Ramen, Savannah, Edith, in comes Lloyd followed by James, Dewey, William and Alma.
He registered for the draft June 5, 1917 [1]and listed his occupation as a farmer. He was employed by Benjamin Hand in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Wagoner Acker died of disease in France[2] After the war he was brought home and interred in Ziegels Union Cemetery, Breinigsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA [3]
