Biography

Margaret Acker was born on May 1, 1862, in Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George S. Acker and Elizabeth Geist.

Margaret was married Edward Eugene Harris, son of Albert Thomas Harris and Anna Maria Butler Harris, on January 4, 1883, in Pymosa Township, Cass County, Iowa.[1]

She died on November 26, 1932,in Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa, and is buried in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic. A memorial can be found on Find A Grave.

Living with them are their children, Effa G. Harris, 15; Edna S. Harris, 14; Lester V. Harris, 8; Ira A. Harris, 5, and Marria E. Harris, 3.[2]

1910 - United States Federal Census - In the 1910 census, Ed Harris, 50, and his wife, Margaret Harris, 47, are farming in Pymosa Twp., Cass Co., IA. Living with them are their children, Effa Harris, 25; Lester Harris, 18; Ira Harris, 15; Maria Harris, 13; and Leo Harris, 5.[3]

1920 - United States Federal Census - Ancestry shows the 1920 census with J.J. Harris, 59, as head of household in Pymosa Township, Cass County, Iowa. Living with him is his wife, Margarette Harris, 56, and sons Ira A. Harris, 24, and George Len Harris, 15. Edward (J.J.), Ira and George are all listed as farmers.[4]
