Biography
William Ackland was born in Devon, England about 1838 to parents William Ackland and Sarah Bidder. He married Elizabeth Monroe before 1861 in Devon, England. Children: William Thomas, Henry (Harry), Walter Earl, Mary Elizabeth (Mollie), John, George, Ida, Edward, Ernest. The family immigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1871. He served in the British Army. He died on 3 Feb 1915 in Carleton, Ontario, Canada.
